All classes are taught at Sam's Cats and Dogs stores, at either the Monroe or Everett location. See individual class for details.

Drop-In Classes

Teen Play & Train

Let your adolescent pup burn off some energy with doggy friends, with a little training mixed in! Offered at Monroe location.

What to expect:

  • Single drop-in session
  • Outdoor play moderated by a certified trainer
  • Learn about appropriate play behavior
  • Practice focus exercises around distractions

Requirements: 

  • 6 months to 2 years old, or trainer approval
  • 15-35 pounds
  • Spayed or neutered if over 10 months old
  • Completed vaccination series

Equipment to bring to class:

  • Treat pouch with lots of tiny treats
  • 4-6 ft fixed length leash
  • Dog on a flat collar or a harness (no training collars permitted)

Recall Drop-in

Learn how to motivate your dog to come back when you call, in a single drop-in session! Offered at both Everett and Monroe.

You will learn:

  • Why your dog ignores you
  • How to create an emergency recall
  • What really motivates your dog

Requirements: 

  • 6 months and older with completed vaccination series
  • Not suitable for reactive dogs

Equipment to bring to class:

  • Mat or blanket for dog to lie on
  • Lots of tiny treats! (at least one sandwich sized baggy full of pea-sized treats)
  • 4-6 ft fixed length leash
  • Dog on a flat collar or a harness (no training collars permitted)

Loose Leash Walking Drop-in

Learn tips to have an easier walk with your dog in a single drop-in session! Offered at both Everett and Monroe.

What you’ll learn:

  • How to get your dog’s focus 
  • Why your dog pulls and how you can work WITH them

Requirements: 

  • 6 months and older with completed vaccination series
  • Not suitable for reactive dogs

  • Lots of tiny treats! (at least one sandwich sized baggy full of pea-sized treats)

Multi-Week Courses

Training Foundations

Learn how to teach your dog the foundations of obedience training through positive reinforcement methods! Offered at both Everett and Monroe.

5-week course covering:

  • Getting your dog’s focus
  • Sit, down, stay, place, leave it, recall, and loose leash walking

Requirements: 

  • 8 months and older with completed vaccination series
  • Not suitable for reactive dogs

Equipment to bring to class:

  • Mat or blanket for dog to lie on
  • Lots of tiny treats! (one to two sandwich sized bags of pea-sized treats)
  • 4-6 ft fixed length leash
  • Dog on a flat collar or a harness (no training collars permitted)

Puppy Foundations photo

Puppy Kindergarten

Come get your puppy started off on the right paw! Currently offered at Monroe location.

6-week course covering:

  • proper socialization, puppy play, preventing behavior issues
  • getting your puppy to focus, sit, down, coming when called
  • AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy title available (must attend all 6 weeks)

Requirements: 

  • 8-18 weeks old at start of course with age-appropriate vaccinations

Equipment to bring to class:

  • Mat or blanket for puppy to lie on
  • Lots of tiny treats! (at least one sandwich sized baggy full of pea-sized treats)
  • 4-6 ft fixed length leash
  • Puppy on a flat collar or a harness (no training collars permitted)
  • Poop bags

Widen Their World

Explore new activities you and your dog can do together to grow your bond and expand your dog’s world! Currently offered at Everett location.

3-week course with each week focusing on a different activity:

  • Nosework
  • Parkour
  • Tricks

Requirements: 

  • 6 months and older with completed vaccination series
  • Not suitable for reactive dogs

Equipment to bring to class:

  • Mat or blanket for dog to lie on
  • Lots of tiny treats! (at least one sandwich sized baggy full of pea-sized treats)
  • 4-6 ft fixed length leash

  • A tug toy, if your dog enjoys tug
